Ex-WorldSBK rider returns to the paddock with an eye on his future

Team Lorini Honda have decided to call on the services of Ayrton Badovini to substitute for injured Glenn Scott in the next Rounds of the WorldSSP Championship. Young Australian Scott fractured his tibia at MotorLand Aragón and will be forced to miss the next 3 race weekends on the calendar. Badovini proved himself a qualified WorldSBK rider for a number of seasons and as well as fighting in the lead group, has accrued two podiums. With Team Honda Lorini he should be given the chance to capture more great results.

“Firstly I want to express my satisfaction with the results that Scott and Wahr have both achieved, they are two great riders and we’re happy to have them in the team,” said Team Manager Livio Lorini. “Badovini has been on the radar of our team for some time. The original idea for us was to have 3 riders in WorldSSP, but we didn’t get approval for 3 bikes. We had decided that Badovini would race as a Wildcard in the Italian races. Now, he’ll replace Scott, but we’re going to do everything we can to try and make it possible for him to race for the rest of the season and attempt to have a third bike on the grid when Glenn Scott returns. Our idea is to start a multi-year collaboration with Badovini and count on him to compete for us in WorldSBK in 2017.”
